Are Fruits and Vegetables Useful In Treating Acne?
When it comes to acne, no one is immune. Both genders, all races and all ages of people will at one point or another find themselves faced with an acne problem. The thing is though, some people will have a harder time getting rid of the acne than others. For some people, it is just a passing moment in high school that is awkward, but easy enough to get through. For others, this is a problem that begins at age ten and it is something that they are still dealing with at age forty. It is something that has become normal for them, but it really does not have to be this way.
Acne is nothing more than clogged pores. Why some people will end up with more clogged pores than others will depend on a wide variety of things. Some times, there is genetics involved. Other times there is hygiene involved and other times, it has a lot to do with a person’s diet. Believe it or not, the addition of more fruits and vegetables into your diet could increase your chance of getting rid of your troublesome acne once and for all.
Don’t believe it? You don’t have to. But, it would be a disservice to yourself if you did not at least give it a try. Since adding more fruits and veggies to your diet is something that will at least benefit you in other physical and mental aspects, it is worth a shot. Even if there is a slim chance that by the addition of a few green leafy things to your dinner plate would even simply reduce the amount of acne that you deal with, would it not be worth it?
So what is it that happens for the vegetables and fruits to work on the acne. While the specifics are not clear, one thing is for certain, test subjects that added more vegetables to their diet saw that the distribution of sugar in the body was slowed and as a result, they saw fewer and fewer of the red lesions that is common with acne.
This does make sense. A lot more teenagers will suffer from acne than adults. It is also the teenagers who are not very good at making sure that they are eating a well balanced diet. As a person ages and matures, their taste buds change and their need for veggies starts to become apparent. If you have noticed a slight decrease in acne breakouts from your teenage years to now, but they have not completely done away, it is probably because you have naturally increased your intake of veggies, but not enough to completely clear the acne.
Along with the addition of more fruits and veggies into your diet, you are also going to want to concentrate on a few other things. For example, you are going to want to make sure that you are washing your face at least twice a day, but no more than three times a day. You are also going to want to make sure that you are changing your pillow case daily and that you are keeping your hands off of your face. Try to de-stress your life a little and get more exercise. Above all else, make sure that you are starting to drink more water each day. A body that is properly hydrated will not tend to have a lot of problems with acne.
As you can see, there are a few different things to consider. The more you look into these various tips and hints, the clearer it will become to you that you should be able to get your acne under control, once and for all.
So what are you sitting around waiting for? With so many ways to start to improve the look and feel of your skin, you owe it to yourself to get started. If nothing else, you are going to at least start to feel better from the inside out!
